title says it all, bubblyfish laid down her gameboy powered beats real loud in the Prostor Abaton warehouse back in March and starpause was at the soundboard soaking up the .wavs. processed with breakaway so bypass that candy ’cause we already rocked it regulator style.
if you dig it grab her latest tunes at http://myspace.com/bubblyfishmusic or http://www.bubblyfish.com/ and if you need to be excited into pressing play on the sound eat this sperm hype:
With a background in classical piano, Haeyoung Kim has been lately focusing on experimental electronic music. Based in NYC (orgininally from South Korea), she has worked as a composer, sound designer, and audio engineer. Currently, under the name Bubblyfish, Haeyoung creates “lo-fi” 8 bit sound works and minimal electronic compositions.

several months late or a few days early … your call! we kick things back into gear with a life recording of starpause at SPERM festival in Prague, including hyped text from their program:
Jordan Gray (alias starPause or K9D) was running one of the first true netlabels ever - Broke Bunny and continues to run Mp3Death athat has been recognised by VORC and De:Bug for cataloging the sounds of handheld techno and the chip tune avant-garde. starPaus’s own music fits somewhere in between - body concious beats and mind-melting basslines crafted on pocket-sized consumer electronics with scene-built software.

Some wackjobs stole some of the Thrity Six Dollars Mini Books and some of Nathan’s Neti Project books. I bet it was drunk chicks who were pretending to be stupid but fully knew in the back of their minds thatthey were just theives, or it was dudes wearing backpacks, or it was dudes in Button-Up shirts. I guess I have to keep books outta sight during openings.

BITSHIFTER brought drum and bass flavor to the BLIPstage at SPERMfestival in prague! he’s also deep into comic books and old school hardcore. at the same time he remains a true genleman who is perfectly professional beyond necessity. inside tips have this seminal LSDJ & NANOLOOP jock slotted for track sorting at the micromusic QFS!
this recording is the fourth out of eight board recordigns done by starpause from the BLIPstage @ SPERMfestival in prauge, leaving us with four more to go. SPERM also had some words to say about the performer in this recording:
Joshua Davis explores high-energy, low-bit music composed and performed on the first generation Game Boy. Based in New York city, Bit Shifter has performed over one hundred shows worldwide, having recently circumvented the planet in a 20-date world tour with fellow chiptune compatriot Nullsleep.

In March of 2008, SPERM festival congregated many artists in Prague for the CONFUSE party. Starpause recorded all sets at the BLIP stage which will be podcasting from the twentygoto10 gallery blog. If you don’t know NULLSLEEP here is his SPERM write-up:
In 1999 Jeremiah Johnson cofounded 8bitpeoples - a collective of artists interested in the audio-visual capabilities of early home computers and video game consoles. During his shows he generally uses a couple of Game Boys and NES consoles hooked up to a QWERTY keyboard, letting him rock out in much the same way a conventional keyboardist would.
